This page explains what happens to your data when you choose a photo, select a style or read a guide on Photo2Skin Online.

The short version

• Your photo is not uploaded. It is used locally on your own device.
• For signed-in accounts, we store only generated skins, not photos, in its skin history.
• We use Google Analytics 4 (through Google Tag Manager) to count visits and a few button clicks.

Your photo

When you choose or drop a photo, your browser displays it using a temporary local link (a blob: URL). The image file is not sent to us or to anyone else, and it is not stored on any server. Before checkout, the browser saves the photo and selected regions in local IndexedDB so they survive the payment return. The generated PNG is also saved locally for repeat downloads. We save your order token in sessionStorage and localStorage, and your generation identifier in localStorage, so this device can recover your paid pack after you close the tab. These credentials are never sent to analytics. Clearing site data removes this recovery information; account skin history is available after sign-in. Use “Remove saved photo from this device” on the result page to delete the saved photo, or clear this site’s browser data to remove all local files. The only thing recorded about it is that a photo was chosen and its file type (for example “png” or “jpeg”), as an analytics event.

Account skins and credits

Account history stores only generated 64×64 PNG skins (up to 16 KB), linked to the account identifier. Photos remain on your device and are never accepted by the history service. Credit purchases and downloads are recorded in a credit ledger. We use your account email for sign-in, verification and account support. Clerk is our authentication processor and handles email codes, Google sign-in and bot protection. We store only generated skins, never original photos. Anonymous results can be saved to the first signed-in account within 10 minutes on this device; history is limited to 50 skins.

Analytics

This site loads Google Tag Manager, which loads Google Analytics 4. Google Analytics records page views and these events: a photo was chosen (file type only), you entered preparation (with plan, style and edition), you stayed for 60 seconds, a skin was generated, and a PNG save was requested. It also collects the usual technical details such as browser, device type, approximate location derived from your IP address, and the page that referred you.

Google Analytics uses first-party cookies (such as _ga) to tell visits apart. The data is processed by Google; see Google’s Privacy Policy and how Google uses data from sites that use its services. You can block these cookies in your browser settings or install the Google Analytics opt-out add-on; the site keeps working either way.

Hosting

The site is hosted on Cloudflare Pages. Like any web host, Cloudflare processes your IP address and request details to deliver the pages and protect the site from abuse.

On photo2skin.online, Cloudflare Web Analytics also measures page loads and page performance (such as load time, the page visited and the referring site); it is privacy-friendly, sets no cookies and never receives your photo.

Children

Login is optional. Clerk processes your email address and, when you choose Google login, your Google profile to authenticate your account. Clerk uses session cookies; our services store your Clerk user ID, credit records and saved skin history on Cloudflare D1. Your original photo stays on your device. If you are under 13, please ask a parent or guardian before using the site.

Payments

Checkout sends only your plan, style and edition to our order service. Orders store payment identifiers and authorization state, never photos. When payments are enabled, Creem handles checkout and payment details, and may receive your purchase email from Clerk. Purchases are currently closed while merchant review is pending. Verified payment authorizes downloads without a watermark.

Changes

If the way the site works changes, for example if photos ever need to be sent to a server to make a skin, we will update this page before that happens and change the date at the top.
