How the Minecraft skin grabber works
The lookup resolves the Java username through Mojang’s public profile API, with the Minecraft services profile lookup as a fallback, then reads its skin texture from the session server. The PNG passes through this site’s proxy so the browser can display and save it. Your entered username is sent to this site and Mojang for the lookup.
The character view uses the PNG’s head, body, arm and leg faces, including outer layers. Rotate it to inspect the back. Both views show a watermark on the body and legs; Save PNG keeps the texture size and transparency. A save without a watermark uses 1 credit through your credit balance. Without credits, choose Save with watermark in the dialog for a PNG with a visible watermark on the body and legs; the head stays untouched. Choose Upgrade to buy credits.
Match the arm model and keep the texture size
Modern skins use a 64×64 PNG with Classic four-pixel arms or Slim three-pixel arms. The model comes from the public profile. Older Classic skins may use 64×32; the character view mirrors the shared arm and leg textures and keeps that original file size when saving.
To equip the saved skin, follow how to change your Minecraft skin and choose the matching arm model. To make a skin from your own picture, use the photo to Minecraft skin tool.
Lookup limits
This page retrieves the current public Java skin. It cannot retrieve private account details, past skins, capes or Bedrock Character Creator outfits. If the profile has no public skin texture, the page reports that instead of substituting another skin. Mojang may cache a recent change or temporarily limit requests; wait before trying again.
